Fun Cellphone Download and Review

FIC, a Taiwan-based motherboard manufacturer, has decided to expand its business market and will soon release its own smartphone called the FIC-GTA001. Boasts built-in GPS functionalities and integrated iPod-quality (or so it claimed) MP3 player, this GSM cell phone offers a 2.8-inch touch screen display with a resolution of 480×640 and multi-touch gesture recognition, USB connectivity, and emergy paging button.

Since FIC-GTA001 cell phone will be using Linux as its operating system, most software on the phone will have the spirit of the fat penguin (read: open source) and you can expect the growing list of software from the community. One of the planned software is the capability to capture hand gestures for controlling the device. This would allow you to for example zoom into a map using a pinching motion and pan by twisting fingers around as if holding a compass while using the GPS navigation software on board.

Gigabyte has just announced the new member of its GSmart Series Smartphone, the GSmart i120. Runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU 3.0 operating system, this cell phone comes in an elegant silver cases complimented with a modern retro accent. Features include a 2.4-inch touch screen display, a numeric keypad, navigation keypad, a 256MB of onboard memory, a 64MB of of ROM, an integrated 2 megapixel camera module, media player, and a built-in TV tuner with direct recording capability. During the 3GSM World Congress Asia 2006, Gigabyte Communications reveals its latest smartphone, the GSmart i200. As the first DVB-H Windows Mobile 5.0-based cell phone, it boasts its capabilities to display DVB-H and DVH-T-based TV programme, as well as radio and other media, along with (somehow limited) direct TV recording function onto its built-in 512MB of onboard memory. If the 2.69-inch VGA touch screen display is not big enough, users can always take advantage of the provided TV-out port and enjoy the satellite broadcasted media on a bigger screen. Well, We’ve just heard about the G-Smart i200 cell phone, and today Gigabyte already surprises us with the G-Smart i300 device. Shown off during the Asia 3GSM Conference, the i300 is a PDA phone packed with a built-in GPS receiver, Bluetooth antenna, and an integrated 2 megapixel digital camera. It comes with a Bluetooth headset that can be used as a security device such that if the headset is activated during an emergency, it will prompt the phone to send a message with the last known coordinates to pre-assigned numbers that can be left with friends, family, even colleagues. HTC have been announced the launch of HTC P4350 PDA phone which is planned to hit the market of Europe, Middle East, and Africa in early December. Also known as Herald, this GSM cell phone features a large 2.8-inch colors LCD display with touch screen user interface and landscape orientation, a 5-way navigational pad for convenient navigation and web browsing experience, and a variety of connectivity options which include GPRS, EDGE, WiFI, and Bluetooth 2.0. Measures 3.54 x 1.81 x 0.92-inches and weighs at just 3.4-ounces, this small CDMA handset offers an external text and photo caller ID, an integrated camera module with flash and digital zoom functions, and Bluetooth connectivity. It seems that Nokia is going to develop the E90 cell phone. This handset, from the rough sketches found in Nokia’s document, looks like the successor of the Communicator series. It comes with a QWERTY keyboard design, an integrated 2 megapixel camera module, and miniUSB support. Since both E and Communicator series are aimed at business customers, a high connectivity is a must. And that’s why the E90 phone will be packed with HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE, and WiFi compatibility. LG and Verizon Wireless yesterday announced the new flavours of the highly popular Chocolate phone - Cherry (red) and Mint (green). The addition of these two colors make a total of four color variants now available, including the original Black and White.
